Arbor Crest Wine Cellars is a local family-owned winery and event venue, originally established in 1982. Our landmark headquarters, the Cliff House Estate, is perched on a basalt cliff 450 feet above the Spokane River valley. The Estate was built over a century ago (by the inventor Royal Riblet), and the surrounding gardens and grounds feature enchanting architecture and sweeping views from downtown Spokane all the way east to Liberty Lake.

With Jim and Kristina van Loben Sels at the helm, the winery continues to grow from a strong foundation of family values and a keen sense of stewardship for their community. The Arbor Crest Tasting Room and Cliff House Estate has become the Inland Northwest's premier destination for exceptional wine experiences, private gatherings, business events, art festivals, year-round music and outdoor concerts, anniversary celebrations, weddings and more — welcoming close to 65,000 visitors to the Estate annually, from all over the world.

Event Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Event Manager is responsible for planning and executing events of all sizes with precision and professionalism. This role requires the ability to navigate challenges seamlessly while consistently exceeding guest expectations. We are seeking an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can multitask effectively, and demonstrates exceptional organizational skills while delivering memorable event experiences.

The ideal candidate is a strong team leader who can build, guide, and motivate an effective staff. They must possess excellent client-facing skills, maintain a high level of professionalism, and communicate confidently with guests and vendors alike. Our Event Manager ensures that every gathering is seamless, impactful, and truly unforgettable. The right person will bring both creativity and business acumen to the role, all while fostering positive relationships with team members, clients, and partners.

JOB DUTIES, EXPECTATIONS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients post-booking regarding event-specific planning and logistics (excluding contract and payment inquiries).

  • Update Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and create detailed floor plans.

  • Ensure proper staffing levels for all private events (excluding wine club and concert events).

  • Support the quarterly planning and coordination of wine club parties.

  • Coordinate catering needs and timelines with the Arbor Crest kitchen team.

  • Facilitate final walkthroughs and lead event tastings with clients.

  • Coordinate wedding rehearsals and serve as Lead Coordinator for day-of-event execution.

  • Supervise and lead all event staff, including bar, safety, and coordinating teams.

  • Conduct post-event follow-up with clients and vendors and provide reports to the Venue Sales Manager.

  • Assist with onboarding and training of newly hired event staff.

  • Provide Tasting Room service support during winter months; cross-train to support operations across the property.

  • Adhere to all company policies and comply with state and federal regulations.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all guests at all times.

  • Stand and walk for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions as required.

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Operate POS systems, accurately process transactions, and handle cash efficiently.

  • Maintain precise documentation of inventory transactions.

  • Uphold a clean, organized, and healthy work environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age

  • Washington State Liquor Control Board Class 12 MAST Permit - obtained within 2 weeks of hiring

  • Washington State Food Workers Permit - obtained within 2 weeks of hiring

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

The Event Manager is a full time, year round position.

Event Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION

Day-of-Event Coordinators are responsible for supporting the planning and execution of events of all sizes, ensuring each detail is managed with precision and care. Coordinators must be adaptable problem-solvers who can overcome challenges while consistently exceeding guest expectations.

We are seeking an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, and is passionate about creating memorable event experiences. Strong client-facing communication skills and professionalism are essential.

The Event Coordinator ensures that every gathering is seamless, efficient, and—most importantly—unforgettable. The ideal candidate brings both creativity and business acumen to the role while fostering positive relationships with team members, guests, and vendors.

JOB DUTIES, EXPECTATIONS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Liaise with the Venue Manager, Event Manager, event staff, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless event execution.

  • Efficiently complete opening and closing duties for each event type.

  • Oversee and assist with event setup and breakdown.

  • Evaluate overall event success and report findings to the Venue Manager and Event Manager.

  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

  • Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude at all times.

  • Understand and practice responsible hospitality standards.

  • Communicate effectively and provide support to all team members.

  • Follow established procedures and comply with company policies, as well as state and federal regulations.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all guests.

  • Stand and walk for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions as required.

  • Proactively monitor and respond to inclement weather situations.

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Operate POS systems, process sales transactions, and handle cash accurately and efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS:

The Event Coordinator is a seasonal part-time position, April through October. Potential hours November through March.

Event Setup and Teardown

JOB DESCRIPTION

Arbor Crest Wine Cellars is seeking Event Staff members to join our team. We are looking for individuals who represent our company with enthusiasm, professionalism, teamwork, and a strong commitment to quality.Event Staff are responsible for the setup and breakdown of all events, including concerts and weddings, and will work closely with our Tasting Room Staff to ensure a positive guest experience.This position requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Positively represent the company in all situations

  • Set up and break down tables, chairs, stages, parking areas, and waste receptacles for events

  • Replace and restock beer kegs and cases of wine as needed

  • Assist with bussing tables and general grounds upkeep

  • Monitor all areas of the property during events

  • Identify, report, and assist during medical emergencies if needed

  • Adapt to changes in the work environment and event needs

  • Provide assistance and support to team members across departments

  • Take direction from multiple managers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

  • Ability to push or pull dollies with tables, chairs, and umbrellas

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older

  • Washington State Liquor Control Board MAST Permit (Class 12 or 13)

  • Spokane Health Department Food Handler’s Permit

    • Permits must be obtained within 14 days of hire

Tasting Room Associate

JOB DESCRIPTION

Arbor Crest is looking for Tasting Room Associates to provide memorable moments for all guests while creating an energetic, positive team environment. We are seeking individuals who can work respectfully with others while building long lasting relationships with our members and guests. The desired employee will be able to adapt and perform in all situations, maintain communication among team members, and commit to make each guest interaction extraordinary.

JOB DUTIES, EXPECTATIONS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Product sales, including but not limited to: meeting team sales goals, promoting and selling wine club memberships, and offering other products and/or services to enhance the guest experience

  • Assist front of house and back of house staff as needed

  • Maintain professionalism and positivity

  • Expand wine knowledge, prior wine industry experience is preferred

  • Develop sales skills through education and training

  • Understand and practice responsible hospitality

  • Communicate and provide support to all team members
